9351 CLEAR CRACKLE EARTHENWARE GLAZE
NOTES/APPLICATION
-
Transparent, high-gloss crackle glaze finish.
-
Apply a single coat only, as the glaze has a strong tendency to run.
-
For best results, biscuit fire to 1000°C to help prevent blistering.
-
Blistering may occur on certain clay bodies, particularly when glazed on both sides or all over.
-
The crackle effect typically develops as the piece cools after firing and may continue to intensify for up to one week.
-
If the crackle pattern does not appear naturally, remove the piece from the kiln at approximately 100°C and carefully quench it in cold water.
-
Highlight the crackle pattern by rubbing in black China ink, acrylic paints, strong black tea, or other suitable colourants.
